This week we talk to Kerri and Daisy about their RunDisney experiences and we have lots of tips to share if you’re thinking about doing a RunDisney event in the future!
First, why should you use a travel agent to book your RunDisney vacation? Simple – We have access to race bibs BEFORE they go on sale to everyone! We can book your RunDisney package with room, tickets, and race bibs usually several months before anyone else can book them. The day the bibs are released is usually very stressful as you’re having to compete against the masses all trying to get race bibs. Several of the races can and will sell out before you’re able to get the bib that you want. When you book with an agent, you can just sit back and relax that day knowing that your bib is already guaranteed!
What are the RunDisney events?
Walt Disney World Marathon takes place the second weekend of January. Races include 5K, 10K, half marathon, full marathon, challenges, and kid races. This is the only race that includes a full marathon. The overall theme is classic Disney characters – Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, etc.
Disney Princess Half Marathon weekend takes place the third weekend in February. Races include 5K, 10K, half marathon, challenges, and kid races. The theme for this weekend is Disney Princess.
Star Wars Rival Run Half Marathon weekend takes place the third weekend in April. Races include 5K, 10K, half marathon, challenges, and kid races. The overall theme for the weekend is of course, Star Wars, whether you are Rebel, Sith, Resistance, or First Order!
Wine and Dine Half Marathon weekend takes place the first weekend in November. Races include 5K, 10K, half marathon, and challenges. The theme for this race can change, but for 2020 it was “Wickedly Delicious” and had a Disney Villains theme.
Each race weekend has a different vibe, so check with your travel specialist to see which one might be the best fit for you!
Virtual Runs
Race weekends have been cancelled through Disney Princess 2021, but Disney has taken the races virtual. What this means is that you will need to complete the race on your own – whether you do it all at once or over a few days time is up to you – and Disney will send you a finishing medal (and other goodies, depending on which virtual race you sign up for).
